I use to have this problem (seriously...)
sometimes it could be an issue or a problem in life that could be bothering your senses.
Other times it could be your lifestyle such as eating right, drinking plenty of water, exercise, and resiting unhealthy sleeping patterns.

I use to stay up because of unfinished work, but you also have to keep in mind that staying up is really bad for the heart.
So trying doing the most common things that make you fall asleep. i fall asleep tranquil music and reading.

A good massage might even boost your sleeping.

I used to have this problem too, but working out before going to sleep (and showering in between) tired your muscles and you're more likely to relax. Also reading a book sends you fast to dreamland, and I used to listen to music but got annoyed lately.
